Most vision loss is unnecessary. 80% of blindness and vision loss can either be avoided or treated.
In executing the right to sight, friends of St Joseph's eye hospital will be guided by the following objectives as summarized:
Deliver free essential eye care services to the underserved and rural communities.
Delivery of free glaucoma screening services to the high risk populations/groups.
To offer free/nearly cost free medication to curative and preventive eye problems.
Create awareness using the media, and other advocacy tools of blinding eye diseases as a public health issue in our state and beyond.
Mobilization of financial resources through partnerships with likeminded bodies.
To undertake periodic monitoring and evaluation with reporting of our activities for the purposes of probity, re-planning and growth..
